London Bridge Chooses MSK Extreme |

Extremity MR studies are estimated to represent approximately 25% of all MR scans performed. Demand for orthopaedic extremity MRI procedures is expected to grow, due in a large part to active lifestyle trends and greater patient awareness of MR imaging. MSK Extreme enables facilities to off-load this 25% from an expensive whole body scanner and even increase the volume of extremity exams. For London Bridge Hospital the MSK Extreme complements a wide range of imaging capability shared between their Tooley Street and Broad Street facilitiesl. This includes sophisticated X-Ray, 64 slice VCT scanner and three 1.5 T MR systems. It is anticipated that the MSK Extreme will help the Hospital further decrease the waiting lists for MR scans.Pictured at the recent handover to the Hospital are (from left - standing): Vertec Specialist Paul Vaughan, Co-founder, President, and CEO of ONI Medical Systems Bob Kwolyk, London Bridge Hospital Imaging Services Manager Joe Cornall, Vertec MRI Technical Specialist Shane Pounder and Hospital CEO John Reay. Seated is Broad Street Imaging Manager Joha-Mari Ham.The London Bridge installation is the third in the UK - the others are at Parkside Hospital and Western Infirmary. It was acquired together with an Hologic Discovery DXA system.
