
Bill Hipgrave, Managing Director
Originally trained as an engineer, Bill has been with Vertec since 1987. Initially employed as Technical Manager, Bill built up Vertec's service and support department into its current form. Bill has extensive experience in the Bone Densitometry field having been involved in several early DPA installations prior to the advent of DEXA. He personnaly installed the first DEXA systems in the UK as well as being involved in several early European installations. Following the retirement of the company's founder in 2000, Bill was made Managing Director. Under his guidance, the company has built upon its earlier successes and has become the most successful supplier of central DEXA systems in the UK.
Carolynne Jones, Office Manager
Carolynne has been with Vertec since 1998. She is responsible for all admin and general workflow as well as promotional activities with regard to our products. Carolynne has been involved in much of the companies new product launches, carrying out customer surveys and mailings. In her spare time, Carolynne is studying for a degree in business studies.
The Product Specialists Team
Vertec's product team is made up of a group of specialists in each of the company's main fields. Each specialist takes responsibility for a particular product line and is able to call on the assistance of any of the others in the team whenever necessary. All specialists have had full product training by the manufacturer and are fully versed in all aspects of their particular product line. In addition, they are familiar with arranging leasing, financing etc.
Paul Vaughan, Product Specialist
Paul joined Vertec for the second time early 2003 as Sales Specialist responsible for Bone Densitometry products in the UK, which includes DEXA and Sahara product range. He has a long association with the medical imaging market since leaving Mars where he was a field engineer and production supervisor. Paul has been with XOGraph as Sales Territory Manager North East, Adac Laboratories / Philips Medical Systems as Project Manager / Installation Specialist, first time round at Vertec Scientific as Field Service Engineer and at Sterling Diagnostic Imaging / Dupont Medical Systems as Field Service Engineer.
Michael Davis, Product Specialist
Michael joined Vertec in 1998 following the merger of Gothic Crellon and Vertec Scientific. Michael is our Northern Sales Specialist responsible for Virtual Colonoscopy, Radiation Protection, Radiotherapy, Orthopedic and Miscellaneous products, which includes PTW, Scanflex, Orfit, etc.
Keith Lakin, Product Specialist
Keith Lakin joined Vertec as Product Specialist in the late 1980's and is currently responsible for CereTom, Fluoroscan and PTW product sales.
The Service Team Vertec's Service and Support department currently consists of seven fully qualified, factory trained engineers and technicians. All of Vertec's engineers have had extensive training on our full product ranges. Vertec has service personnel based from our offices in Aldermaston as well as "home based" engineers to enable us to respond quicker to emergencies. As well as installation and repairs, the team are responsible for all pre-shipment testing and verification of our products. All systems are built and tested in our workshops prior to shipment to the end-user.
Simon Champion, Technical Manager
Simon initially joined Vertec as a Service Engineer before being promoted to Service Manager and then Technical Manager. Prior to joining Vertec, Simon was apprenticed with Smith's Aerospace Industries in Basingstoke. Simon now has responsability for all post-sales support of our products as well as pre-installation support of those products, such as DEXA, which require installation. Having been "factory trained" by the manufacturer, Simon has extensive experience of Bone Densitometry in the UK and has been involved with installation and support of these systems for several years.
Anne Stapleton, Applications Specialist
Anne joined the Vertec team as applications specialist in October 2002. Prior to this time, Anne worked in the Bone Density Unit of the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield, under Professor Richard Eastell. A trained Radiographer, Anne has extensive experience of all aspects of Bone Densitometry, DEXA and Spinal Imaging / evaluation both in a clinical setting and in research. Anne's main duties are the post-installation training of new operators and the follow-up training and assistance of more experienced operators.
