In her capacity as the President of the National Osteoporosis Society, Mrs Camilla Parker Bowles opened the new osteoporosis scanner at St Marks Hospital, Maidenhead.

The scanner, an Hologic Discovery supplied by Vertec Scientific, was purchased from funds raised by the local group Charitable Association Supplying Hospitals (CASH) with a generous donation from the Rheumatology Department of Heatherwood and Wexham Park Hospitals NHS Trust and has been installed in the Imaging Department at St.Mark's Hospital.Image

The Department, led by Dr Isabella Liyanage, is part of Heatherwood and Wexham Park Hospitals NHS Trust, which provides hospital, outpatient and diagnostic services to the community of East Berkshire.

The scanner is pictured following the opening with members of the hospital team including Dr Isabella Liyanage and Superintendent Radiographer Diana Hyde.
