Discovery at the Princess of Wales, Grimsby. The Discovery, a Hologic QDR Series Bone Densitometer, combines the proven clinical value of bone mineral density (BMD) measurement and vertebral assessment with Express BMD, the most rapid means of acquiring accurate BMD results. Express BMD and Instant Vertebral Assessment (IVA), both powered by Hologic's exclusive OnePass fan-beam technology, represent two of the many features that improve the accuracy, speed and convenience of assessing osteoporosis.

John Burgess comments, "We chose the Discovery because it offers easy and repeatable patient positioning for the lateral vertebral imaging which I believe can add significantly to the diagnosis of osteoporotic spine fractures. In terms of repeat scans for treatment follow up this instrument seems to offer far superior performance simply because we can be confident that the position of the patient is more likely to be consistent with different operators."We've not been scanning patients for long, but so far we are very pleased with the performance."
