Whether your staff are in the medical field, NDT or other industrial application, the Bleeper SV provides simple and immediate feedback on their radiation dose rate, allowing them to stay alert and reduce their occupational exposure.
Bleeper SV provides continuous audible and visual indication of dose rate from 1µSv/hr upwards, with a continuous alarm starting at 1mSv/hr.
Established in 1979, Vertec have decades of experience in radiation safety and quality assurance. Realising the need for a simple and cost effective product for personnel working with radiation to receive instantaneous feedback about their exposure to ionising radiation rather than rely solely on historical information from film and thermoluminescent dosimeters, the Bleeper product line was born.
Using the Bleeper SV or Bleeper III couldn’t be easier, it’s always on and every 15 minutes you’ll hear a ‘reassurance tone’. If you enter an area where your dose rate exceeds 10µSv/h, the device will start to bleep every 20 seconds. In the unlikely event dose exceeds 1mSv/h or more, a continuous alarm will sound. On the Bleeper SV, the tones are supplemented by the digital display, which shows dose in µSv/hr
45keV to 6MeV
The Bleeper is 148mm x 27mm x 16mm and weighs just 78gm, it comfortably fits in a pocket.
2x Alkaline AAA batteries
Typically, batteries will last up to a year depending on the environment.
The ‘reassurance tone’ that occurs every 15 minutes will change to a longer, 1 second tone so that you know that the batteries need replacing.
The bleeper SV has the addition of a screen showing the current dose rate in µSv/hr. Both devices have the same audible warning system.
No, the Bleeper devices are designed to supplement conventional personal monitoring solutions such as film badges or TLDs. They provide the added benefit of immediate feedback which provides the wearer with the opportunity to reduce their occupational dose.
