Unlike a conventional thermionic tube, there is no heated filament, no rotating anode and the amount of heat generated is much lower.
Not only does this ensure longevity, but the tube weighs just 2.35KG, paving the way for a cart with unbeatable ergonomics and manoeuvrability.
Furthermore, cold cathode carbon nanotubes emit a precisely controlled electron stream. The stream is produced in an instantaneous pulse which provides a much more stable tube energy.
Thanks to the tube technology, the whole system weighs in at just 105kg. This enables the unit to run with a feather-light, motorless drivetrain.
What that provides is a system that can be pushed both naturally and precisely, including with one hand where necessary. The cart has instantaneous, automatic brakes that apply as soon as the Ergoknob handles are released.
When at the bedside, the lightweight tube has further benefits. Gas strut suspension allows the tube head to be smoothly and naturally positioned in the desired orientation. Should the need arise, the cart can be repositioned using the nudge buttons on the tube head.
Collimator controls and LBD switch are located on the ‘tusks’ (pictured), further streamlining workflow.
The system may be light, but packs plenty of power for all day performance. The LiFePO battery pack provides 7 hours continuous and fast charge technology allows the system to fully recharge in just 90 minutes.
Forget to plug it in? The system is fully operational within 30 seconds of being connected to AC power and can be used whilst charging should the need arise.
