Intrafraction Prostate Motion Tracking
Enabling Accuracy in Prostate Cancer Care
The Raypilot® system from Micropos monitors intrafraction prostate motion in real-time and with sub-millimetre precision to alert healthcare professionals if motion occurs outside of predefined tolerances. The system includes the Raypilot® Hypocath, a temporary urinary catheter with an integrated transmitter that also allows for precise, reproducible bladder filling.
Raypilot® Receiver
The system receiver is linac vendor neutral and can be placed on any table, fixed with standard index bars. The antennas recognise signals sent from the Raypilot Hypocath 30 times per second. The receiver is lightweight, easy to carrry and connect prior to treatment, with easy removal post-treatment.
Raypilot® Hypocath
The Radpilot® Hypocath is a temporary urinary catheter with an integrated transmitter. It shows the real-time lcoation of the prostate in 3D and outlines the urethra. It is inserted quickly and easily like any standard Foley catheter. The Viewcath is a replica of the Hypocath used to fill the bladder for treatment planning.
Raypilot® Software
Designed for simplicity and ease of use, real-time target motion is displayed in 3 planes and the user is alerted if motion occurs outside of defined tolerance. The Raypilot® software interface is dislpayed on monitors in both the control and treatment room. In the treatment room the interface is used for patient ID and set up, while in the control room, the interface is used for real-time localisation and motion monitoring. As soon as the catheter is connected, the patient is identified in the software and guidance couch set-up coordinates are displayed.
During the treatment, the Raypilot® software shows target motion in real-time and alerts if motion in any direction is exceeded. All motion data is stored and can be displayed or exported for further analysis.

Undetected prostate motion is always a risk in radiation treatment of the prostate. The Raypilot® system shows, in real-time, the true deviation of the prostate during the treatment session.
